CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?!

Though there is more scanning to do, I needed to shout today, I feel so empowered, so much a part of the MILLIONS of women- and the men who love them, came out in record numbers around the globe to speak to our inherent rights and those who want to dismiss them.
What a day. I marched in Washington DC, and was overcome with emotion the entire day. I drew my way through most of the day- walking, talking, chanting, singing, loving and smiling. Still smiling.
I am going to let my drawings do the talking. More to come.

Struttin' with the bunnies

I have been on a sabbatical from teaching at FIT since January- and have been drawing like crazy! I will be posting more on that, but  for today, wanted to share some drawings from the annual Easter Bonnet parade across from St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC. It was my first time going downtown to experience this really fun day- and it did not disappoint! I might have to do a bonnet for next year!

Fall Fashion Ritual

This year looked as if stripes and plaids, with black booties were in. What do I know? Just that skulking around Lincoln Center during Fashion Week provides me with a drawing day almost unparalleled with opportunity. Designers, models, model wanna be-s, the famous, infamous, paparazzi, seekers of fame and the people- like me, just happy to be in and around one of the hottest tickets in town come Fall.

Not Everything Stays in Vegas

When a friend told me that she was going to Vegas for a conference, I jumped at the chance to meet her there. I had never been and it was too good to pass up. It was a quickie turnaround, and though I am not sure that anyone needs more than a couple of days there, I think that I might go back if it was just me and my sketchbook. For that, there are endless characters and casinos, expressions and exaltations, and bling, bling, bling, wherever you look.

Fore!

Does anyone really call that on the course? I'm afraid that my experience has been trying to get the ball through the windmill or gingerbread house on putt-putts all up and down the Eastern seaboard since childhood. Still, I was thrilled to be asked to document the FIT Golf Classic along with other MFA in Illustration peeps, Elena Mykolaitis, Bruno Nadalin, Stephen Gardner and Han Yuan Yu. It was a really fun day out in the fresh air, no lack for extreme twists and turns of those figures, looking for the eagle?
